Good Morning!!!
We are excited to have Susan Conway of Mud Road Flower Farm popping up this Saturday between 11 and 1. She will be bring a range of flowers both grown and gathered on her flower farm in the foot hills of the Adirondack’s. Also, we’ve had a jam delivery from Mimi Beaven. Very Red Berry Jam, Black Currant Jam and Gooseberry-Ginger Jelly are new arrivals. The fruit is home grown and batches are small and limited. Check out the line-up on to days menu.
Updates this week include, fresh corn quiche with scallions, basil and cheddar. Think corn pudding in a buttery crust! This week’s salad is “Italian-ish”. Roasted eggplant, zucchini and sweet red peppers are join by creamy flageolet beans, prosciutto and mozzarella over butter lettuce with an herby vinaigrette. Let us know if you prefer it vegetarian. The Insalata di Palate gets a summer update with the addition of Samascott green beans. Galette is filled with sweet peaches and the scone is blueberry-lemon cornmeal.
Garlic scape-basil butter will be around only briefly. It is delicious and versatile. Top any grilled protein or vegetable for a quick sauce. Toss with pasta, as in any of the Via Ravioli. Make garlic scape bread. Grab a baguette, split it, schmear with scape butter and bake in a hot oven. Cook your scrambled or fry your eggs in it. Use your imagination!!
Mimi’s small batch jams and jelly are obviously delicious on toast, think about vanilla ice cream, or alongside grilled pork or on a cheese board or a sandwich.
Don’t forget we always have Yundwell Pastured Eggs, TriBeCa bakery baguettes, Via Ravioli, and by request, creme fraiche biscuits, and frittata.
Michael is awaiting your calls beginning at 9. Have a wonderful week!!
